April 8th UPDATE

Parents, student and staff,

As most of you know there will be a wonderful celestial event taking place on April 8th 2024. A total Solar Eclipse will take place over our area between 1:59-4:29PM on April 8th 2024.
Our teachers will be educating our students about this amazing occasion and we will discuss the dangers of looking directly at the sun during this event.
The district will provide every student with safety sunglasses to use if they wish to view the eclipse. We highly recommend that parents or guardians monitor students during this time as well.
Our area will be one of the best areas to view this event therefore we will be having a calamity day that day and there will be no school on this date.
During events like this there may be a great deal of traffic in this area for those coming from out of town to witness the eclipse.
With the timing of this event, we do not want to get into a situation where we have students that are on buses and in cars during the peak timing of this event and not able to get home because of traffic.
We want to make sure that our students are home in a safe place and supervised during this event.
This will take place on April 8th the Monday after Spring break.
School will resume on April 9th.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
