Welcome to Barberton Elementary East

A message from the Principal...

We would like to welcome everyone and hope the summer has provided you with an opportunity to have quality time with your family. Once again, our kindergarten students will have a staggered start to their school year:

Wednesday, August 29, 2012 - Kindergarten students with last names beginning with letters A – F
Thursday, August 30, 2012 - Kindergarten students with last names beginning with letters G – P
Friday, August 31, 2012 - Kindergarten students with last names beginning with the letters Q – Z

Kindergarten students and parents are to report to the school cafeteria at 9:00 a.m. on their assigned day. Note: Kindergarten students will begin attending school on a daily basis beginning Tuesday, September 4th. Kindergarten students will only attend one day of school the week of August 27th as assigned above.

Traffic Circulation Plan

Bus Riders Bus riders will be dropped off and picked up in the driveway at the main entrance off of Robinson Avenue.

Kindergarten Students (& Siblings)

Arrival:

Kindergarten students and their siblings should be dropped off and picked up in the Kindergarten Drop Off driveway located on 3rd Street. These students will have a yellow pass with family name that should be displayed in the dashboard. After exiting the cars in the morning, kindergarteners and their siblings will enter the building through the kindergarten entry and proceed to the cafeteria for breakfast or the gymnasium to line up with their classes. We will hold a daily, morning meeting with students in the cafeteria and gymnasium at 8:30a.m.

Pick-Up:

After school, kindergarteners and their siblings will wait with teachers on the sidewalk surrounding the Kindergarten Drop Off driveway for their ride home in the afternoon. Their rides will be identified with the yellow dashboard pass.  *Kindergarten dashboard passes will be handed out at Kindergarten Orientation.

Grades 1-4 Students (without a kindergarten sibling)

Arrival:

Students in grades 1-4 (without a kindergarten sibling) will be dropped off and picked up in the Drop Off areas off of 3rd Street or the Bus and Event Parking area off of 2nd Street. Students will enter the building and proceed to the cafeteria for breakfast or the gymnasium to line up with their classes. We will hold a daily, morning meeting with students in the cafeteria and gymnasium at 8:30a.m.

Pick-up:

After school, students without a kindergarten sibling will wait with their teacher on the sidewalk between the 2nd Street and 3rd Street drop-off areas for their ride home in the afternoon.

Traffic exits from 3rd Street drop-off driveways are right turn only.
In order to increase our drop off/ pick up area, we have moved our bus parking to the driveway outside our main entrance off Robinson Avenue.
The only traffic entering the Robinson Avenue (Main Entrance) driveway during arrival and dismissal times must have a handicapped parking permit.
Drivers waiting in the drop off driveways should at no time leave their car unattended.
