The USDA did not fund the continuance of free meals for all students next school year as it had done the last 2 years. Barberton will return to the traditional meal service and has set pricing as such:
BREAKFAST:
Preschool, Primary, and Intermediate: $1.80
Middle and High School: $2.00
LUNCH:
Preschool, Primary, and Intermediate: $2.80
Middle and High School: $3.05 and $3.30
FREE AND REDUCED MEALS:
Breakfast and Lunch will be served starting on the first day of school at all buildings.
You are encouraged to complete an online application for FREE OR REDUCED MEALS instead of a paper application. This generates a faster approval process. Visit
https://payschoolscentral.com and sign up. You must first register as a parent. You will also need your child(ren’s) ID number to register.
All families must complete a new application each year on or before September 15th. If your income status changes anytime during the school year, please fill out an application and turn it into your school as soon as possible.
Applications are available online or on our website as of July 1st for SY 22-23. Students who have not been approved for free or reduced meals will pay the above prices for meals. There can be no retroactive approvals of these benefits so if you owe money from meals charged prior to being approved for free or reduced priced meals, you will still owe that money.
Reduced price for Breakfast is $0.30 and for Lunch it’s $ 0.40 at all schools. Milk comes with each meal. We offer your children the opportunity to purchase milk only, for $ 0.50.
