IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
Parents, students and staff,

After careful consideration, and with the motivation to make sure our students have as normal of a school year as possible, the Barberton City School District is requiring masks inside all of our buildings.

Masks are required beginning Tuesday September 7th.

Our students have suffered academically, socially, and emotionally over the last 19 months.
They have missed out on lifelong memories like dances, in person graduation, sports, and extracurricular activities because of the pandemic.

We want to do everything in our power to make sure we have as little interruption as possible.

We have not yet seen all of the repercussions from the past 19 months.

That means limiting any disruptions that prevent our students from being in school and in front of our teachers. Masks help us limit the need to quarantine, and the disruption that causes.

To avoid going fully remote, where students miss out, we must require masks. We will review where we are periodically throughout the Fall, and communicate any updates to this requirement when necessary.

Thank you all for working together to keep our kids in school and safe. Stay Barberton Strong, Go Magics!
