“Due to the unprecedented state of emergency we are in, the Board of Education wants to act with a great deal of caution while still carrying out the official business of the District,” said Board of Education President, Dave Polacek. “We will follow the guidelines in House Bill 197 that allow for a virtual meeting while also streaming it live to the public.

“In no way do we want to minimize or prohibit the public’s participation in or engagement with our meetings. We remain committed to transparency in our operations, and we look forward to re-establishing the standard procedures for our meetings when we are past this state of emergency. In the near term, using technology to hold our meetings virtually allows the Board of Education to conduct its business while complying with guidance from the CDC and public health officials to protect the health and safety of the public, staff, and board members.”
