Research indicates that the more education a student has completed, the better his or her performance will be on the ACT and SAT. Juniors are encouraged to take a college entrance exam the spring of their junior year. Barberton High School is a ACT testing site. If you are on free or reduced lunch or on a IEP make sure you see your guidance counselor before registering for the test.

Differences between the tests. SAT emphasizes vocabulary, but no questions are asked regarding English Grammar, science or trigonometry. ACT includes science reasoning, trigonometry and grammar. The key difference is the penalty for guessing on questions. ACT does not penalize for guessing on questions; SAT will penalize if the student response to the questions incorrectly.
